How to Play Ninja
"Ninja" is a game that's spread across the united states in a frenzy of popularity. The object of the game is to hit/slap your opponent's hands to get them out.
Steps
1 The players begin by standing in a circle. This game can be played with any number of players. Everyone stands with their hands together to mimic a ninja' s resting pose. The players then jump, all at the same time, and yell/say "ninja!" while striking a ninja pose. Then the first player to act (chosen beforehand) makes the first move.
2 The first player decides if he/she wants to attack the player to the left or to the right of them (no one else). They don't tell the other players, because part of the fun is not knowing whether or not you're going to be attacked on the first round.
3 On the attack, the player makes one fluid motion with the goal goal of hitting/slapping the opponent's hand. You can only take one step with one leg or jump towards another player with both feet. If you fall, you're out.
4 The opponent may also dodge the attack. When the first player makes his/her one fluid motion, the other player gets to attempt to dodge the attack. If the first player hits his/her opponent's hand, the opponent is eliminated.
5 Turns keep going in a circle until there are two players left, at which point the game restarts with only those two players. They strike their ninja poses and take turns attacking each other and dodging until there's only one ninja left standing: the winner!
Tips
A good strategy for success is to fluidly move from your dodge into your attack, so that the person you attack won't be prepared for it.
Some of the rules are just variations for game play. Some people play without ordered turns or don't mandate standing in a circle. Other groups let you back in the game when the person who eliminated you goes out. There are many other variations to customize the game and make it your own, so be creative!
Warnings
Don't use real weapons to jab. Don't jab in the face. Try to have A LOT of space. It's possible to get hurt if you play this game too rough!
